Forget holidays, we are back on the job. But… what in heavens name will we do with the kids? Normally we don’t have any clue. But this year Amsterdam art scene frontiers ‘Mediamatic’ came up with a stunning and brilliant idea. Child labour! So we sent the little ayatollahs to this real sneaker sweatshop for kids. Hard work doesn’t kill you… gna, gna…   Mediamatic Amsterdam organizes workshops for wanna-bee designers from the age of 6-14. When: 3 & 24& 31 August 2008. Tot 28 juli concentreert Bettie zich op het zeeleven. Prettige vakantie!

En daarenboven hebben wij de mening dat Nozzman de betere cartoonist is. Maar die laat zich met zijn honderd dertig kilo ook niet zo makkelijk van zijn bed tillen. We begrijpen die Hirsch Balin best. 

KPN dochter Base en de Belgische Parlementariër Jurgen Verstrepen vechten om domeinnaam freedomofspeech.be. ‘Het is onze slogan want we hebben er miljoenen ingepompt’ zegt Base. ‘Freedom of speech’ is een mensenrecht, dus kan nooit geclaimd worden’ verweert Verstrepen. ‘De domeinnaam freedomofspeech.be behoort de mensheid toe, en bij mij is hij dus in goede en veilige handen’. Hij zette hierover zelfs al een provocatief filmpje op zijn website…

Eindhoven. Just after 45 minutes playing Pete Doherty [The Babyshambles] left the stage with the mysterious words ‘it seems that I can’t pleasing someone, you Dutch cunts’. Luckily he sang earlier the brilliant song ‘What Katie did‘ . So in the end it doesn’t matter what Pete did. Still he is one of the world’s most gifted musicians of our times. Crocodile fills my eyes.    

Ronnie Sex Shop is one of the Worlds best proving examples of the unlimited power of copywriting. Ronnies star has risen from zip to an international cult hero, in just a blink. Ronnie featured in the international Playboy magazine, and numerous magazines and papers in Africa and Europe.

Sex Sells

Ronnie had a little farm in the middle of the Semi dessert of Karoo just next to the R62. . And a little stall where he tried to sell vegetables and fruit. So he named it Ronnies Shop. And well…. Nothing happened. No clients… No money… No shit.

 Power of Copywriting 

Some friends where joking about his struggle for life. And they gave him some business advise. They just added the three letter word to the shop name. (Without asking to Ronnie in the first place). This little word ‘Sex’ uplifted the business immediately. When people started to stop, Ronnie just bought a fridge, some beer and soda and started the most hilarious bar of South Africa. No sex available. But a lot of good stories for free. Enjoy it.
